Terror Threat Forces LA Folk Band Allah-Las To Cancel Netherlands Concert

Allah-Las, a Los Angeles folk band, was forced to cancel a concert in the Netherlands after authorities uncovered a terrorist threat.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A concert by Los Angeles folk-rock band Allah-Las in the Netherlands was canceled Wednesday in response to a reported terror threat.

The band had been scheduled to perform in the Dutch city of Rotterdam at a venue called Maassilo. According to the mayor of Rotterdam, Ahmed Aboutaleb, the performance was canceled after Dutch authorities received information from Spanish police about a possible terrorist plot.

No specific information was released about the nature of the warning or its exact origin. But Aboutaleb said police stopped a van with Spanish license plates that contained several gas canisters and was being driven near the concert venue. The van's driver was detained for questioning.

A representative for the Allah-Las told the Los Angeles Times members of the band were fine.

"The band is unharmed and are very grateful to the Rotterdam police and other responsible agencies for detecting the potential threat before anyone was hurt," the band rep told the paper.
