The Federal Bar Closes and Becomes The Senator ... For a Day

A new TV show has taken over the bar in NoHo.

Fans of the new in NoHo probably panicked for a moment when they saw the sign out front. The Senator?

only in February and has quickly become one of the most popular venues in the area, and for a brief moment it looked like it had all come to a crashing halt.

But Federal fans can relax, the bar is only closed for Monday while filming of a new television show, Switched at Birth, takes place there. The show will premiere on the ABC Family channel on June 6 and has turned The Federal into The Senator.

According to the show's Web site, "Switched at Birth, a one-hour scripted drama, tells the story of two teenage girls who discover they were accidentally switched as newborns in the hospital."

Switched at Birth stars newcomer Katie Leclerc and a lineup of TV vets, such as Vanessa Marano (Gilmore Girls), Constance Marie (George Lopez), D.W. Moffett (Friday Night Lights), Lea Thompson (Back to the Future, Caroline in the City), and Lucas Grabeel (High School Musical). The show will also feature a guest appearance by Academy Award winner Marlee Matlin.
