NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — Police Tuesday released an image of a man — thought to be a transient in the North Hollywood area — who allegedly threatened to kill a store employee who refused to let him charge his cell phone.

The alleged criminal threat was made about 7:30 Wednesday at a store in the 5300 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard in the Valley Village area, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

"The victim is in fear" as the suspect remains at large, according to a police statement.

The suspect, believed to be about 35 years old, was described as white, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds with blue eyes, a mustache, beard and ponytail. He was wearing a black jacket.

Anyone with information regarding the man's identity and whereabouts was urged to call 818-754-8451 to speak with Detective Allen.
