May 6, 2015, Burbank, CA – The Falcon Theatre is proud to present the world premiere of The Trouble We Come From written by Scott Caan and directed by Matt August. In this romantic comedy Charlie (Michael Weston) finds himself at a crossroads in his life, with the news that his girlfriend (Claire van der Boom) is expecting. Charlie confides in his best friend, Vince (Scott Caan), that he has recently crossed paths with other women in his life, including previous girlfriends (Teri Reeves), and in this tangled web of relationships, is unsure about commitment.

Scott Caan (Playwright) Writer, director, and actor Scott Caan has starred in numerous major motion pictures, and written, directed and starred in several plays, many of which have received acclaim from critics and industry peers alike. Caan currently stars as ‘Danny “Danno” Williams’ on CBS’s updated Hawaii Five-O. Prior to that, audiences last saw him as a series regular ‘Scott Lavin’ in the hit HBO series Entourage. He was last seen on the silver screen in the Patrick Hoelck directed IFC film Mercy, which Caan also penned and co-produced. Caan also wrote Two Wrongs, directed by Missy Yager and produced by Mike O’Malley, which opened in Los Angeles to rave reviews. He starred in Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s 13 reprising his role as the wisecracking ‘Turk Malloy’, which he played in Ocean’s 11 (2001) and Ocean’s 12 (2004). He directed his original screenplay The Dog Problem and wore three hats as writer, director, and co-star; the film premiered with much acclaim at the 2006 Toronto Film Festival. Caan also directed and starred in Dallas 362, his directorial debut. After premiering at the Toronto Film Festival, it received the Critics Choice Award at CineVegas International Film Festival, and enjoyed a critically acclaimed release with Think Films. Caan was also seen in Friends with Money, Into the Blue, American Outlaws, and Novocaine. Caan wrote, starred and codirected a play in the fall of 2001 at LA’s Playhouse West called Almost Love. He has also written three feature scripts and has appeared in over ten feature films over a two year span including numerous independent films such as Bongwater, Lunchtime Special and Greg Araki’s Nowhere.

Teri Reeves (Joanna/Samantha/The Blond/Kelly)
Teri often appears on stage with her theater company, Chalk Rep, where she most recently played the Duchess in Oscar Wilde’s Lady Windermere’s Fan, May in Fool for Love and Natasha in Three Sisters. TV/film credits include Dr. Hallie Thomas on Chicago Fire, KJ Jameson on Hulu’s Battleground, guest/recurring roles on Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, Castle, NCIS, NCIS: LA, 10 Year Plan, and more.


Claire van der Boom (Shelly) has appeared in the Off-Broadway productions of David Rabes’ An Early History of Fire (The New Group) and Sam Shepards’ Heartless (Signature Theatre Company). Film credits include: 5 Flights Up, The Square, Love is Now, Redhill. van der Boom’s television credits include HBO’s The Pacific, Hawaii Five-0, Constantine, Masters of Sex, plus the Australian series Rush, Love My Way, and Sisters of War (for which she won the Silver Logie Award). Upcoming films include Battlecreek, Chronic, Dear Eleanor and Broke.

Michael Weston (Charlie) Recent stage performances include: Other Desert Cities (Taper), Extinction (Off-Broadway), and Zoe Kazan’s Trudy And Max In Love at South Coast Rep. Film credits include: Wish I Was Here, Gravy, State Of Play, Last Kiss, Love Wedding Marriage, Wedding Daze, Brooklyn Brothers Beat The Best, Expecting, Garden State, Harts War, Lucky Numbers, Dukes Of Hazzard, Pathology, Wishcraft, Getting To Know You, Coyote Ugly, Cherry Falls, Quad, See You In Valhalla, and upcoming Secret Life Of Me. The Falcon Theatre is a 130-seat professional theatre that operates year-round in Burbank, California, built by Director/Writer/Producer Garry Marshall and his daughter Kathleen Marshall LaGambina. The Falcon opened in November of 1997 and launched its annual 5:play Subscription Series in 2002, currently produced by Kathleen and Sherry Greczmiel. Mr. Marshall founded the Falcon as a place where established artists and emerging talent can come together to create exciting work on stage.
