Upscale Nightclub and High-Tech Stage Aim to Reinvigorate Universal City
Infusion Lounge offers a 'first look' at the club before its grand opening; 5 Towers Stage at City Walk presents free concerts.
Infusion Lounge in Universal City has opened for previews of its Las Vegas-style night club in preparation for an Aug. 18 grand opening. World class DJs, surprise performers and the ability to order a magnum bottle of high-end liquor are among the features that differentiate Infusion Lounge from other Los Angeles night spots, said Infusion’s Marketing Director, Matthew Koenig
The upscale club with a Pacific Rim design also offers private seating areas for smaller and larger groups.
“You get your own space with your own group in an intimate setting,” Koenig said. In addition, a “fashion forward” dress code, VIP service and the assurance of a balanced ratio of men and women will promote “a less aggressive, better vibe,” Koenig said.

While the club is expected to attract an international crowd, the goal is also to reach “a large demographic who doesn’t want to go out to Hollywood, especially people from the Valley,” Koenig said.
With two levels, each with its own dance floor and 9800 square feet, the club’s owners intend to keep their guests from having to wait on line to get inside.

The first Infusion Lounge opened two years ago in San Francisco, and was named one of Conde Nast Traveller’s Top 35 Night Clubs in the World. Plans are in the works for branches in London and Las Vegas.
Infusion’s owners were approached by Universal CityWalk’s owners to be a part of CityWalk’s goal of “reintroducing ourselves” to the local and larger community, said CityWalk Marketing Director Melissa Lander.
“We want locals to think of us,” and to keep in mind that there is always something unexpected happening at CityWalk, she said.
The addition of Infusion Lounge was part of that plan. City Walk also added a new stage that opened last week. 5 Towers stage features 42 foot tall lights that are promised to change the way people experience music. When people move, the lights will respond to them. The free summer concert series is designed to highlight local musicians and big names like , who will perform Thursday night.
