V-DAY STUDIO CITY Presents Their Annual Charitable Production of “THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES” MARCH 11-12 at the FEDERAL BAR, NOHO

Maxie Solters, Studio City native and founder of V-Day Studio City, is bringing Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues to The Federal Bar, 5303 Lankershim Blvd., in North Hollywood, on Saturday Evening, March 11th at 8pm and Sunday Matinee, March 12th at 1pm.

Based on playwrite Ensler's interviews, which she conducted with women and girls from around the world, The Vagina Monologues depicts true stories about women’s attempts to overcome society’s stigmas through embracing & celebrating their sexuality.

You’ll be moved to tears and laughter, energized and inspired, motivated to make a difference, and ready to take action to stop the violence now! We are proud to announce that in addition to benefitting V-DAY, proceeds will go to Planned Parenthood and St. Johns Transgender Health Program.

2017 is V-Day Studio City's fourth year appearing at The Federal Bar. This stylish nightclub, in a classic early-20th-century bank building, has a charming cozy ambience, perfect for delighting in fabulous fare, while enjoying superb entertainment.

The small but mighty Solters produces the eye-opening, hysterical, heart-wrenching piece, for the tenth consecutive year. Solters co-stars with Allie Altschuler, Adolfo Anderson, Michelle Appezzato, Jay Eftimoski, Debra Graff, Julienne Irons, Lauren Rodriguez, Nan Savage, Emily Short, and Andrew Watie.

A highlight of the evening is the acclaimed ‘fake orgasm contest,’ which always brings the audience to their feet roaring with guffaws. Winners receive exciting erotic prizes. Gift bags will be raffled with sex toys donated by sponsors LELO, A Touch of Romance, Crave, and Babeland.

Since becoming part of V-Day, Maxie has discovered an inner strength and confidence. "Being surrounded by strong leaders has given me quite the backbone. And I am definitely not shy about sex. I've become the go to person for all my friends' needs in that department. People literally associate me with The Vagina Monologues and V-Day to a point where I've heard myself referenced as the 'vagina girl.'

Maxie's involvement in the organization has taught her not to fear speaking out even if others shy away. "It reminds me how lucky I am to be able to talk about these issues while others across the globe are forced into silent. The movement encourages women to speak out, proving we really can make a difference.

Rather than waiting around for someone else to give you a big break, Maxie advises aspiring artists to be proactive. "Create your own content. Do a play, a podcast, make a web-series, star in a short film...whatever fuels your creativity and gives you fulfillment at the end of the day."

Over the past few years, Maxie has re-worked her brain and considers herself a 'creator.’ "I make stuff happen. I always have projects in the works. I stopped worrying about making money as an actor and started thinking about what really makes me happy. Taking my future into my own hands truly enhanced my life.”
