A 51-year-old Canyon Country man was charged with murder today for allegedly gunning down a neighbor with whom he had an ongoing feud.

Lennie Paul Tracey is accused of killing Anthony Jay Davis, 51, around 3 a.m. Saturday in the 27900 block of Calypso Lane. In addition to murder, Tracey is charged with a single count of assault with a firearm.

Tracey was scheduled to be arraigned sometime today in San Fernando
Superior Court.

According to police and prosecutors, Tracey and Davis had been involved in a long-running dispute that escalated when Tracey installed some floodlights that were pointed in the direction of Davis' home. Prosecutors said Davis was upset that the lights were disrupting a video surveillance system at his home.

Upset about the disruption, Davis unplugged the lights on Tracey's property, and Tracey shot him twice with a shotgun, then pointed the weapon at Davis' wife, authorities said.

Prosecutors plan to ask that Tracey remain jailed on $1.1 million bail.
