Valley's Funeral Burglary Suspect Arrested
Police arrested a man suspected of burglarizing homes across the Valley while families attending funerals.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A suspect in a series of Southland home burglaries, some of which targeted people who were away attending funerals, has been taken into custody in Anaheim, police announced Thursday.
Brett Patrick Rogers, 44, who has family in Riverside and Lake Elsinore, is suspected to be the burglar pictured in a doorbell camera security video at a Sherman Oaks residence that was targeted March 12, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The same suspect is believed to have burglarized homes on March 7 and 11 while the residents were at funerals, according to the LAPD.

Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt confirmed that Rogers was in custody but had no details about when and where he was detained.
On March 27, police released the security video from the Sherman Oaks crime, and sought public help to identify the burglar.
"After the original news release was issued ... several calls came in regarding this suspect," according to an LAPD statement. "With the help of the public, the suspect has been identified as Brett Patrick Rogers.
"Based on this investigation Rogers may also be involved in burglaries in Glendale and Lakewood where those victims were also at funerals," police said.
Los Angeles police posted images of Rogers to Twitter on Monday, noting that the suspect was possibly staying at motels or hotels in Orange and/or Huntington Beach.
