The Bureau of Sanitation's East Valley District Yard in Sun Valley hosted an open house Saturday which was attended by hundreds of local residents curious about recycling and sanitation. The yard serves all the recycling collected in the entire East San Fernando Valley, which adds up to an estimated 12,000 tons a week, according to Ray Cruz, the superintendent of the yard.
