Video: Woman Punched In Unprovoked Mall Attack
Police hope someone will recognize a suspect caught on camera punching a woman in an unprovoked attack at the Glendale Police Department.

GLENDALE, CA —A person punched a woman walking past in a parking structure at the Glendale Fashion Center Wednesday morning in an unprovoked attack that was caught on camera. Now, police hope someone will recognize her assailant.
The attack happened at about 7:30 a.m. in the lower-level parking structure at the mall in the 200 block of North Glendale Avenue, according to the Glendale Police Department.
In the video, the woman can be seen walking about 25 feet away from the suspect when the person suddenly heads right for her. The two didn't appear to interact in any way before the suspect suddenly reaches out and punches her.

"The suspect was standing next to several bags and appeared to be smoking narcotics when the victim walked by," police said in a statement. "The suspect quickly walked up to the victim and struck her in the side of the head with (his or her) right hand."
In the video, the woman calmly walks away, and the suspect returned to their perch as though nothing happened.

Police released security images of the suspect, whose gender is not known. The suspect is about 5-feet- 4 inches to 5-feet-7 inches tall, with a medium build.
