Four new businesses arrive in NoHo and one more is coming soon.

Four new businesses have arrived in the NoHo Arts District over the last few weeks and another one is on the way.

The Sweat Shoppe, Kathy's E. Boutique, Pyramido and a new CVS have all opened their doors recently, and construction at P. Gators, a new restaurant, is underway.

The Sweat Shoppe, an exercise center that "keeps things simple" by just having indoor cycling classes, opened its doors on Aug. 1, according to its Facebook page. One should be prepared to "spin among fellow athletes, dancers, painters, photographers, and artists from all walks of life."

The shop's Web site also has a blog that chronicled its construction, which began three months ago, and includes some of theories behind the design of the space:

"We chose a space that was essentially a bare boned canvas. No plumbing, no electrical, no rooms. Just plain concrete walls and flooring. Pipes exposed in the ceilings and walls. We actually really like the industrial feel of the space currently and have designed the space to keep some of those industrial elements alive.

"The spin space is a cave. Dark, hidden. Designed to motivate you to escape into your own workout Zen. We have brought in some of the best sound and lighting engineers who have brought to life many of your favorite night clubs, bars and restaurants in the city of Angels."

Construction next door at P. Gators, advertised as healthy southern-style food, is already underway, although construction still has a way to go and no grand opening date has been advertised.

Just across the street and up the block, celebrated a grand reopening on July 9 in a new location after being closed for a year. According to a profile on NoHoArtsDistrict.com, the vintage clothing store has been located in the NoHo neighborhood for 22 years. Kathy's E. Boutique carries new and vintage clothing and accessories from the 1900s to present for women and men. The shop also offers a selection of jewelry, gloves, dresses, coats, hats, and shoes. Clothing brands include Pucci, Balenciaga, Lilly Ann, Gucci, Madam Agnes and more.

The new CVS, located at 4744 Lankershim Blvd., is just across the street from where the Arts District begins and opened on Sunday. In fact, it is so new it isn't even listed on the company's Web site yet. The CVS takes over the old location that was vacated earlier this year by , which had been at the spot for 31 years. Roger Dunn moved up Lankershim to the NoHo 14 building. The new CVS, that opened recently, completes a major renovation and upgrade of the old strip mall.

And finally, Pyramido, a new Greek and Mediterranean restaurant opened in July at 4907 Lankershim Blvd. The restaurant offers hookah, a full bar, live entertainment, inside and outside dining and has a half-price happy hour from 3-7 p.m.
