Watch: Trapped Horse Airlifted To Safety In Los Angeles

A horse named Misty became trapped in a ravine in the Shadow Hills area Tuesday.

SHADOW HILLS, CA — A horse that fell into a ravine in the Shadow Hills area had to be air lifted to safety Tuesday afternoon.

The horse named Misty found herself trapped in a ditch between a cinder block and rebar wall, according to fire authorities. Crews worked for more than an hour to free her, but ultimately the horse had to be sedated, strapped to a helicopter harness and hoisted out of the ravine.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to the scene at near the 10300 block of Clybourn Avenue in the Shadow Hills area just after 1 p.m., according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department. with the help of the e Los Angeles County Fire Department's copter 18, the horse was hoisted to safety about an hour and a half later.

Misty did not appear to be seriously injured, and she was quickly reunited with her owner.
