Wax Poetic, A Reinvention of a Beloved Institution

Kerry Hite, actress and entrepreneur, has taken Wax Poetic back over after a brief hiatus. Having built the Burbank institution, located on Magnolia Blvd, into a cornerstone of the community she is redefining her business.

"There are different ways to grow," said Ms. Hite. "Some companies grow big, we decided to grow up. Rather than just go through the motions to make a buck, I wanted to offer people the types of services and products that my staff and I were truly passionate about."

Wax Poetic offers complete waxing services, including eye brow, bikini, full face, full arm, half arm, brazilian, manzillian, backside and just about everything else.. They also offer a new line of facials, which include the Clear Skin facial, the Brightening facial, the "New You" facial, the Balancing facial and the Vampire facial which is a once a year facial that attempts to make your skin look immortal. The salon's experts also offer lash tinting, perms and brow tints.

They also exclusively carry the entire hair care and skin product lines from 302 line which is a comprehensive line with solutions targeting aging, acne and more and is natural based, preservative free and a clinical esthetic product. They also offer some Bumble and Bumble products, a number of wellness products designed to bring peace and a cure to hangovers (not a typo).

"I want to provide men and women with a place to find some peace in the world," added Hite. "Whether they are actors, working professionals or stay-at-home-moms, we live in such a stressful world that coming into my salon should be a way to take care of yourself without stress following you in the door."

The staff operates as a team of experts, specializing in the elimination of hair on any and all parts of the body. Women can get a professional wax from head to toe, and get advice from a practiced hand on how to keep the hair at bay. In addition, the salon is an authority on facials.

"We offer ultrasound facials and some particularly customized facials because that's what our customers need," said Hite. "They are perfect for sun damage, acne, premature aging, stress, you name it. We customize each facial to our client's individual skincare needs as opposed to the trendiest facial like bird excrement (a really thing unfortunately)."
