William Shatner's Hollywood Charity Horse Show: Tickets On Sale
In its 28th year, this celeb-driven event with online auction is not only an entertaining evening, but also supports a bevy of nonprofits.

BURBANK, CA – Priceline.com king and actor William Shatner is once again hosting his annual charity horse extravaganza featuring world-class horses and riders and A-list entertainment, and tickets are on sale.
Now in its 28th year, the "William Shatner’s Priceline.com Hollywood Charity Horse Show" will be Saturday, June 2 at the premier Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank. And returning for a second time, country music’s Neal McCoy will be among the performers.
The event, sponsored by Wells Fargo, raises funds for such Los Angeles-area organizations as Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Dream Catcher of L.A., E.L.S.A. (Experience Learning Support with Animals), Friendly House LA and Friends & Helpers.

Each year for nearly three decades, Shatner's philanthropic show and dinner has supported charities, primarily focusing on those that benefit children with special needs and U.S. military veterans.
“For years I have witnessed the indelible mark that horses can leave on people," Shatner said. "I have seen children who are unable to walk ride atop horses, and completely break out of their shells, and I have seen the lasting connection humans can have with this incredible animal.”

The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. at the equestrian facility with a free hour-long show with a collection of world-class reining horses and their riders competing for top honors in the 3,000-plus-seat Equidome.
Also planned are a riding demonstration by AHEAD with Horses, country's McCoy and his full band, and a performance of the National Anthem and "God Bless America" by retired Naval petty officer Generald Wilson, who blew away American TV audiences when he performed at the NFC Championship game in Philadelphia earlier this year. (See video here.)
Another performance will feature DIAVOLO, a LA-based professional dance company.
“To be involved with William Shatner and his team in any way is exciting," singer McCoy said. "After being part of his Hollywood Charity Horse Show a couple years ago, we were excited about being part of it again this year. Not only is it a wonderful time for families, but to be able to contribute to some wonderful causes the Shatner team supports. We are really happy to be coming back!”
Dinner will be catered by sponsors STONEFIRE Grill and Paso Robles’ Four Lanterns Winery, and will begin at 7 p.m. in the Equestrian Ballroom. An online silent auction accompanies the event, and is open now and runs through June 3. (Details here.)
The Hollywood Charity Horse Show is headed by Shatner, 87, a horse breeder and equestrian enthusiast, and his wife, Elizabeth.
Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit A Place Called Home, AHEAD With Horses, Blind Children’s Center, Caterina’s Club, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, CRE Outreach, Dream Catcher of L.A., E.L.S.A. (Experience Learning Support with Animals), Friendly House LA, Friends & Helpers, Hollenbeck Police Activities League, Painted Turtle Gang Camp Foundation, Pets for Vets, Saddles for Soldiers, Village Family Services and Wright Foundation for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
