Zoe Pelloux Joins Production of Upcoming Film 'Methadone'

Veteran Producer Tackles the Horrors of Drug Addiction in Shivin Grover's Upcoming Film!

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – French film producer Zoe Pelloux (“Braquoe”) has joined the production of the upcoming film drama “Methadone,” starring Stephanie Pearson and Arisce Wanzer.

Written and directed by Shivin Grover (“Echo”), “Methadone” tells the somber tale about two female drug addicts who find themselves in the middle of a dark, sexual world that serves as a cautionary tale to what lengths people will go to for their next high.

“I was attracted to the idea of navigating the realms of addiction and sexuality from a woman’s perspective,” Pelloux said. “Shivin’s willingness to bring me onto the project and hear mine and the lead actress’s honest critiques about the script have shown a sensitivity and understanding that he wants to incorporate in the story. This is a very ambitious project. With very little money, we are doing our best for this to go to festivals and to attract the eye of investors to be able to film a second part.”

Known for such films as the upcoming coming-of-age teen drama “High School Hero,” and such French films as “Qu’est Ce Qu’on Bon Dieu” (“Serial (Bad) Weddings”), “Demi-soeur,” “The Scapegoat” and others, Pelloux sees the new film as a change of pace for her.

“This project is much darker than I am used to and aimed for a more adult audiences. The message is ambiguous at times, but I am happy to work on a film that will inspire many interpretations from its audience,” she said. “The aesthetic and the creativity of the director is what attracted me to this project. The look he wants, his vision, his motivation. This movie is going to be a real piece of art on its own.”
