118 Freeway Shut Down As Police Search For Suspect

Both directions of the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway were shut down in the Porter Ranch area while police searched for a robbery suspect.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway was closed down in the Porter Ranch area while police search for a robbery suspect Friday afternoon.

By 5 p.m., officers had broken down the perimeter in the area of the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway and Tampa Avenue where they were searching for a burglary suspect who fled at the end of a vehicle chase. The suspect got away, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The freeway and Tampa Avenue on- and off-ramps were closed, but all have been reopened, the California Highway Patrol reports.

The freeway was briefly closed in both directions.
