3 Trapped In Sepulveda Boulevard Pileup

Paramedics worked to free three injured people trapped in the wreckage of a crash on Sepulveda Boulevard.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Three injured people were trapped in the wreckage of a multi-vehicle pileup in Van Nuys.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics are on the scene of a crash in the 7900 block of Sepulveda Boulevard, working to free the three injured people.

The crash was reported just after 6:30 p.m. when a vehicle struck a light pole and a second vehicle, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey. Three people were eventually freed from the wreckage, including one woman in critical condition.

Another woman was also taken to a regional trauma center in serious condition, according to Humphrey. A second driver was transported to a regional trauma center in fair condition, he added.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
