$448,750 Powerball Ticket Recently Sold In Northridge

One lucky lottery player managed to be lucky enough to win $448,750 while also being unlucky enough to miss the $1 billion jackpot by one.

LOS ANGELES, CA — While the world's eyes were on the downtown Los Angeles mini-market that sold last week's $1 billion winning Powerball ticket to an as-yet-unidentified lottery player, a shop in Northridge sold another winning ticket.

There were 39 tickets sold with five numbers, but missing the Powerball number, including one each sold in La Puente, Northridge and the Westlake district, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game.

The ones sold in California are each worth $448,750. The winning numbers in the July 19 drawing were 7, 10, 11, 13, 24, and 24 was the Power number. The winning ticket sold in Northridge was missing the Power number.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball number is 1 in 292.2 million, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.9.
