PANORAMA CITY, CA — The Walmart in Panorama City was shut down overnight when a suspicious package triggered a bomb squad investigation.
The package was discovered at around 11 p.m. at the store at 8333 Van Nuys Boulevard, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer J. Chaves.
For the safety of shoppers and employees, the store was cleared out while the LAPD bomb squad investigated. Ultimately, investigators cleared the scene by Friday morning, and the store reopened.
"The suspicious package was rendered safe," Chaves said.
Ultimately, no threatening materials were found in the package.
