Person Found Dead In Granada Hills House Fire

Firefighters found one person dead inside a Granada Hills home after extinguishing a fire Monday morning.

GRANADA HILLS, CA — One person was found dead inside a Granada Hills home after firefighters extinguished a blaze at the residence, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters responded at around 8 a.m. to the 11600 block of North Swinton Avenue, where they found fire and smoke coming from a one-story, single-family home, the LAFD said.

Crews launched an offensive attack on the fire and knocked down the blaze at 8:29 a.m., about 23 minutes after the 911 call, according to the department.

After bringing the fire under control, firefighters found one person dead inside the home, officials said.

The cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation. Los Angeles police were notified, along with arson investigators, according to the LAFD.
