CANOGA PARK, CA — Cheez-It is teaming up with the B.J. Novak-founded dining brand Chain for a month-long food court pop-up at Westfield Topanga this September.
The Cheez-It Court will open Sept. 2 and run through Sept. 30 at the mall. The branded stall will be the first collaboration in Chain's planned six-month food court residency at the shopping center.
The menu features three dishes inspired by familiar mall food court fare.
The Cheez-Y-Bun is a cinnamon roll topped with Cheez-It Extra Cheesy-seasoned cream cheese frosting, shortbread crumble, salted caramel crunch and a Cheez-It cracker.
The Crunchy Cheez-Dog features a Wagyu hot dog coated in panko and crushed Cheez-It crackers, then topped with mustard, ketchup, a pickle and additional Cheez-It seasoning.
A Cheez-Steak will pair sliced ribeye, American cheese, grilled onions and pickled jalapeños on a toasted hoagie roll seasoned with Cheez-It Extra Cheesy flavoring. It will also include dill pickle aioli and a crumble made with Cheez-It Hot & Spicy crackers and chives.
"Following fan experiences like Studio Cheez and the Cheez-In Diner, Cheez-It fuels unforgettable snack moments with IRL experiences that bring to life the versatility and flavor of Cheez-It crackers in new ways," Nicole Sorensen, vice president of marketing for Cheez-It, said in a statement.
The pop-up will also feature throwback-inspired employee uniforms, Cheez-It-patterned counters and Y2K-style design elements.
Cheez-It Court will be open from 3 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays; noon to 8 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays; and noon to 9 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
After the pop-up opens, Cheez-It plans to post recipes for the three menu items on its website so people can recreate them at home.
