Landmark Sierra's Mexican Restaurant is Closing

Sierra's Mexican Restaurant and Mission Burrito Canoga Park are closing their doors on December 30, 2012.   Gil Jaramillo, founder of Mission Brand Torillas, sold this business and opened the Sierra's Restaurant in 1969 at Canoga Avenue and Vanowen.   The "fast food" addition of Mission Burrito (facing Van Owen) opened in 1973.   The closing of these landmark family restaurants in Canoga Park is a great loss.   A glimmer of ole':  Their Mission Burrito West Hills location, 22744 Roscoe Blvd., will remain open.    No other Mexican restaurant makes a burrito as delicious as the Sierra's Mission Burrito.
