Authorities ID Man Killed In Northridge

Authorities Tuesday identified the 37-year-old man shot Saturday in Northridge. The killer remains at large.

NORTHRIDGE, CA — Authorities Tuesday identified a 37-year-old man fatally shot in Northridge last weekend by an assailant who remains at large.

Police responded about 12:45 p.m. Saturday to reports of gunfire in the 8600 block of Wystone Avenue, near Napa Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Arriving officers found the wounded victim, identified by the coroner's office as Elvis Marenco of Northridge, in the middle of the street. He died at the scene.

The shooter has not been arrested, and police are urging anyone with information to call them at 818-374-9550. To provide information anonymously, tipsters can call Crimestoppers at 800-222-8477.
