Biker Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver On Chatsworth Street

A 40- to 45-year-old motorcyclist was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in a dark sedan on Chatsworth Street Sunday.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A motorcyclist was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Mission Hills near the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway Sunday, and authorities are offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to his killer.

The biker was struck by a dark-colored sedan shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday at on Chatsworth Street at Chatsworth Drive, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Investigators determined the sedan ran a red light while headed southwest on Chatsworth Drive and turning east onto Chatsworth Street. The driver collided with the motorcycle headed westbound on Chatsworth Street, according to LAPD investigators.

The driver of the sedan fled the scene without stopping to render aid to the biker, who was rushed by paramedics to a nearby hospital. The motorcyclist, a 40- to 45-year-old man, was declared dead at the hospital.

Detectives are looking to speak with anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision or anyone who has additional information about the crash. Witnesses can call Valley Traffic Division Detective Ortega at 818- 644- 8035 or Officer Freeman at 818-644-8115.
