Brush Fire Breaks Out Near 118 Freeway In Porter Ranch Area
Firefighters battled a brush fire near the westbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway Monday morning.

CHATSWORTH, CA — Crews battled a 1-acre brush fire in the Porter Ranch area near the westbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway Monday morning.
The blaze was triggered by a dump truck fire that spread to the brush near the westbound side of the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway at De Soto Avenue near Porter Ranch, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Amy Bastman. The blaze broke out up in the canyon area at about 9:21 a.m.
"Firefighters responded with ground crews and water-dropping helicopters to extinguish approximately 1 acre of light to medium vegetation in just 59 minutes," said Bastman.
