Brush Fire Breaks Out Near Chatsworth

Firefighters have called in airdrops for a one-acre blaze near De Soto Avenue and Browns Canyon Road.

CHATSWORTH, CA — Firefighters and air crews quickly halted the forward progress of a brush fire near Chatsworth Tuesday afternoon.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department took an aggressive approach to battle the blaze, which reached one-acre by 3:15 p.m. Tuesday. At least one water- dropping helicopter was at the scene, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.

The fire broke out in the area of De Soto Avenue and Browns Canyon Road near Chatsworth. By 3:45 p.m., crews had halted the spread of that brush fire, limiting it to about an acre burned.

No structures were threatened and no injuries have been reported, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reports.
