"Jeffrey Fire" Contained Under 9 Acres
Multiple fire departments contained a nine-acre brush fire in Chatsworth Wednesday.

CHATSWORTH, CA — The Los Angeles, Los Angeles County and Ventura County fire departments contained a brush fire in Chatsworth near 22560 West Jeffrey Mark Court at around 6:30 p.m., according to the LAFD.
The fire was first reported around 3:59 p.m. As of 6:30 p.m., the fire was 50 percent contained at just under nine acres, according to LAFD.
Fire officials called the fire the "Jeffrey Fire."

There were no evacuations made even though 100 homes were potentially in the path of the fire, according to LAFD.
154 firefighters from LAFD, LACoFD and the VCFD responded to the fire on the ground and in the air.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, LAFD said. LAFD said crews stayed in the area Wednesday night to completely contain and monitor the area.
