Brushfire Breaks Out In Northridge

Crews held a Northridge brushfire to two acres Thursday afternoon.

NORTHRIDGE, CA — Los Angeles firefighters quickly tackled a Northridge brushfire before it could spread to nearby homes.

The blaze broke out Thursday afternoon in the 11300 block of Corbin Avenue in the Northridge area at about 3:22 p.m. Crews were able to contain the fire to two acres before it could spread to dense brush and nearby homes, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Amy Bastman. At no point were homes in danger, she said.
