California State Heralds New Dawn On The Entertainment Scene

There's a lot more to Southern California than irreproducible ocean waves, lousy weather, devastating earthquakes, scorching temperatures, and wildfires. It has a vibrant horse breeding industry with glamorous horse shows and country fairs. For example, the Devonshire Downs, simply called The Downs, was wildly popular with Sunday afternoon horse races. It was also home to multiple carnivals and rock shows. This includes electrifying performances by the legendary Jimi Hendrix in the late sixties.

At the time, sublime rock music lovers enjoyed a love and hate relationship with the placid residents of suburban Northridge. The facility is now part of California State University's North Campus. The musical spirit is reinvented and lives on at the campus. The Hollywood Reporter recently ranked the campus at number sixteen out of the top twenty-five music schools in the country. This is the second consecutive moment that the campus has ranked highly on the journal's iconic list.

One of the notable alumni of the institution includes Grammy Award winner Andy Summers of The Police Fame, a rock band popularized in the seventies by Sting. Not to mention, Diane Warren, a renowned songwriter with dozens of industry awards under her belt. Some of her songs have become successful hits for big-name artists such as Bon Jovi, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey and Gloria Estefan.

California State University, Northridge is now being classified in the same circles as more vaunted and traditionally successful music academies. Some of these include the Juilliard School in New York City as well as the Royal College of Music based in London. The campus has an extensive range of excellent music programs that are popular across the country. It includes segments in music studies, live performances as well as media composition.

It recently hosted a series of public workshops to empower the residents to explore careers in the music and entertainment sector.

The free workshop enjoyed the support of seasoned veterans. They shared their experiences as well as tips and tricks to advance in the industry. It was an excellent opportunity for residents to receive mentoring from active industry professionals and alumni. The workshop had a strong focus on entertainment journalism, screenwriting, and acting.

The partnership increases the broadcaster's service area and promises to grow the listener base from an estimated two million to over ten million. The radio station will have online streaming services and operate a packed 24-hour rotation of the best in rock, blues, and alternative music.
