Here's Your Free Ticket to Saturday's Family Fun Day

Print the Patch Postcard and admission is free for six visitors.

The Chatsworth / Porter Ranch Chamber of Commerce is taking over Pierce College for a day and sponsoring its first Summer Festival. On Aug. 6th from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., residents from all over the area can spend a day in the sun riding ponies, bungee jumping, and rock climbing along with many other family-friendly activities.

Regular admission is $5 per person, but print out the special Patch Postcard on the right, and admission is free for up to six visitors.

“It will be a family fun day,” said Rana Ghadban, executive director of the Chamber. There will be raffles, carnival rides, and a DJ playing family fun music and hosting children's games during the festival cosponsored by the Pierce College Farm Center, 20800 Victory Blvd., Woodland Hills.

Families can also enjoy the petting zoo, bounce house and face painting.

The idea for the event originated with a street fair the Chamber used to host every year. The Chamber expects thousands of residents to attend and inaugurate what they hope to become an annual summer event.

“It also gives exposure to our local members and what the Chamber is about,” said Ghadban. The main sponsors of the event, such as the Chatsworth Hills Academy and Childcare Resource Center, and other Chamber members will host booths at the festival.

The Chamber also hopes the fun day will be a fund day -- as they are hosting the event as fundraiser for community groups. The Kiwanis Club of Chatsworth will be barbequing to raise money for the service organization.
