Chatsworth Couple Killed In Crash Identified

A couple in their 70s died Sunday in a Chatsworth crash that also left a little girl in critical condition.

CHATSWORTH, CA —Authorities identified a man and woman in their 70s, who were killed in a two-car collision in Chatsworth Sunday. The crash also left a 9-year-old girl in critical condition. The girl had been riding in the back seat during the crash.

According to coroner's Investigator Kelli Blanchard, Timothy Deneen, 72, and Yolanda Gonzalez, 73, both died at the scene of the crash in the 9500 block of DeSoto Avenue. Both were Chatsworth residents.

They were killed Sunday afternoon at about 3:30 p.m. in a crash with a 2011 Infiniti M37 that was speeding south on DeSoto Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The Infiniti was driven by a 26-year-old Granada Hills man, who was severely injured as well.

The 9-year-old girl in their back seat was critically injured, taken to a hospital for treatment and remained hospitalized Monday.

No arrests were made, but the investigation continued.
