Off-Duty LAPD Police Officer Killed in Porter Ranch Motorcycle Crash
The crash happened Thursday evening, close to 7 p.m.

PORTER RANCH, CA - An off-duty Los Angeles Police officer was killed in a collision between his motorcycle and a car in Porter Ranch Thursday night. The crash was reported around 6:50 p.m. in the 10800 block of Tampa Avenue, near Chatsworth Street.
The officer has been identified by the coroner's office as 34-year-old John Gasparyan of Canyon Country. He worked in the Valley Traffic Division.
LAPD Chief Charlie Beck took to Twitter late Thursday night to announce the death.

The cause of the crash has not been released.
