Early Morning Earthquakes Rattle Ventura and Los Angeles Counties

Two earthquakes struck close together in Ventura Thursday morning, and the shaking could be felt in Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A pair of quakes epicentered in Ventura rattled Angelenos out of bed early Thursday morning. A magnitude 3.2 temblor struck at 4:58 a.m. and was followed less than ten minutes later by a larger 3.4 temblor also epicentered in Ventura.

Residents as far north as Santa Barbara and as far South as Los Angeles reported the shaking. The quakes struck at a depth of just under 10 miles, according to the US Geological Survey.
