Earthquake Rattles San Fernando Valley — Did You Feel It?

Shaking was reported across the San Fernando Valley Wednesday afternoon.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A small earthquake epicentered near Sylmar struck Wednesday afternoon and could be felt across the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys.

The magnitude of 2.9 temblor struck about a mile west of Sylmar, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake struck at 4:11 p.m. at a depth of about a half-mile.

Residents reported feeling the quake as far south as Laguna Beach. Most people felt the shaking in the area around Sylmar, Van Nuys and Sherman Oaks.
