“A Woman of Independent Means” featuring local actress Lissa Layng is the final event of the 2012 San Marino Celebrity Series. To celebrate Mother’s Day weekend, a tea and play will be held on Saturday, May 12 at 2 p.m. at the Fremont Center Theater, 1000 Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena. Reservations are required.
For 7 years Lissa Layng toured the United States with her one woman show based on the best selling novel by Elizabeth Forsythe Hailey. As the formidable Bess, Lissa Layng depicts in “A Woman of Independent Means” the triumphs and trials in the life of a woman in the 1900’s and reveals her courage, love, and indomitable spirit.
Profits from this charity tea and play will support the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the Huntington Hospital. The San Marino Celebrity Series in the primary fundraising activity of the volunteers of the San Marino Guild.
