“Crossing the Line” is a satirical farce based on a classical Japanese form of theater known as Kyogen. Since Kyogen plays often contain lively and sometimes bawdy satire about everyday situations and common people, it makes ideal source material for a comic exploration of our present day people’s pre-conceived notions and stereotypes.
"Crossing the Line is an original adaptation that highlights the fact that we humans have more in common than they sometimes like to admit,” says Avilés-Rodríguez. “With this production, we hope to shine a spotlight on our amazing local talent and emerging theater scene in the northeast San Fernando Valley."
