See's Candies is a manufacturer and distributor of candy in the western United States, however in recent years they started a mail order business making their delicious chocolates and other items available to almost anyone anywhere. See's Candies was founded by Charles See and his mother Mary See in Los Angeles, California, in 1921. Today, they have over 200 shops.
On display at the Adobe will be numerous works by Dorothy Gray Forbes who worked for the See's family for over 70 years. She designed many of the See's family trademark items that we are so familiar with today. The exhibit will also have candy boxes, photographs, promotional toys, copies of the See Breeze and a copy of "See's Famous Old Time Candies: A Sweet Story", among other items and video on Candies also featuring See's.. Docent tours of the Adobe and Lankershim Reading Room will also be available during your visit.
