Tour Award-Winning School: Germain Elementary

Germain Street Elementary School is inviting its neighbors to learn more about its award-winning program during its annual Open House, Tuesday, May 1.

Germain recently became a California Distinguished School, and is one of only four schools in California and the only school in the Los Angeles Unified School District to have been designated as having a Five-Star Program by the California Association for the Gifted. Germain is a demonstration school for gifted education, and is regularly visited by teachers in various district, and recently Korea.

Germain is also in the process of becoming an Affiliated Charter School.

Visitors to Germain on Tuesday can come to a meeting with the principal at 8 a.m., tour the school from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., or visit classrooms during the annual Open House and Cultural Dance festivitites from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

 The PTA is sponsoring food trucks from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for visitors who would like to purchase dinner for their families.
