Fire Damages Northridge Apartment Building

A fire broke out at a Northridge apartment building Monday afternoon, but firefighters quickly contained the damage.

NORTHRIDGE, CA — A fire damaged a Northridge apartment building Monday afternoon, but firefighters were able to limit the damage to a single unit.

It only took 15 minutes for crews to douse the flames in a first-floor unit at a garden-style apartment building on Parthenia Street near Vanalden Avenue, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

The fire broke out at about 1 p,m. Monday, and crews arrived on scene to make sure it didn't spread from the original unit where the blaze started.

According to the fire department, no one was hurt in the fire, which was under investigation. Authorities had no immediate estimate on the extent of damage.
