Fire Tears Through Chatsworth Attic

Paramedics treated a woman at the scene Wednesday evening.

CHATSWORTH, CA — Firefighters knocked down a house fire that broke out at a single-story home in Chatsworth Wednesday evening. One resident was evaluated at the scene by paramedics, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

The blaze was reported at 5:40 p.m. on the 22000 block of West Hiawatha Street. Firefighters arrived to find flames in the attic of the 1,894 square foot home, said Humphrey. Crews were able to put out the blaze in less than 30 minutes.

"One female resident is currently being evaluated at the scene by LAFD paramedics for a non-specified medical complaint," Humphrey said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
