Firefighter Injured Battling San Fernando Valley Blaze
A house fire broke out at a cul-de-sac near the Northridge Fashion Center.
CHATSWORTH, CA — A firefighter was hospitalized Wednesday with an injury suffered while batting house fire in the Winnetka area Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the scene at the 19400 block of Lorne Street at about 1:45 p.m. to find heavy smoke billowing from a one-story home, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
Crews went on an "offensive fire attack against heavy smoke and fire to the rear of a one-story home," he said.

It took 25 minutes to put out the blaze.
"One firefighter suffered a minor injury," Humphrey told Patch.

The firefighter was transported to a nearby hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
The cause of the blaze remained under investigation.
