Woman Found Dead In Chatsworth Mobile Home Fire: Authorities

A woman was found dead after a structure fire Tuesday evening in Chatsworth.

CHATSWORTH, CA — A woman was found dead after a fire in a Chatsworth mobile home on Tuesday evening, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Authorities found an adult woman's body while searching debris around 30 minutes after the fire was extinguished, the department said. She was determined to be dead on the scene, the department said.

There are reports of two other residents of the home, the department said, but they may have left the scene earlier. Crews are still searching the residence, LAFD said. No one else was injured in the fires, said nErik Scott, LAFD Public Information Officer.

The fire was first reported at 5:31 p.m. near the intersection of West Lassen Street and Lurline Avenue, the department said.

Firefighters found the woman in their secondary search of the home, after having to sort through "excessive storage conditions," the department said.

The LAFD Arson and Counter-Terrorism Section will carry out a routine investigation of the incident.
