Gunman Arrested Following Manhunt On Winnetka Avenue: LAPD
No shots were fired, but reports of a gunman prompted police to shut down the area around Winnetka Avenue in Woodland Hills.
WOODLAND HILLS, CA — Reports of a gunman on Winnetka Avenue in Woodland Hills prompted police to shut down the area for two hours Tuesday afternoon until the suspected gunman could be located and taken into custody.
No shots were fired, and police don't believe there are any additional suspects at large, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Rosario Cervantes.
Officers were called to the 6400 block of Winnetka Avenue at about 12:45 p.m. after receiving a report of a man armed with a gun, said Cervantes.

When the gunman could not be immediately located, officers established a perimeter in the area to search for him and routed traffic away from the area. The man was eventually found and taken into custody, Cervantes said. Police were still at the scene as of 2:45 p.m, though there were no outstanding suspects.
