Hamlin Elementary School​ Placed On Lockdown

Los Angeles police set up a perimeter Monday to nab a stolen car suspect in the area around the West Hills.

WEST HILLS, CA —Hamlin Charter Academy in the West Hills area was placed on a precautionary lockdown Monday while police tracked down a stolen vehicle suspect in the neighborhood.

Officers went to the 22600 block of Hamlin Street about 8:50 a.m., said Los Angeles police Officer Drake Madison. Police established a perimeter, and urged people to stay out of the area.

The man was taken into custody late Monday morning, and the school lockdown was lifted.
