Knife-Wielding Man Threatens Diners At LA Restaurant: Police

The man chased people while carrying a knife before heading inside a restaurant to threaten diners, according to police.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A man who was chasing people and threatening others with a knife inside a San Fernando Valley restaurant was arrested early Monday morning, according to police.

Officers were called at around 12:15 a.m. Monday to a Ralphs parking lot on Woodman Avenue at Sherman Way in Van Nuys after getting a report that a man with a knife was chasing and threatening people, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The man, still holding the knife, went on to enter a Norm's restaurant across the street from the Ralphs, according to police.

Inside, the man began threatening people inside, as video aired by KTLA shows.

Outside the restaurant, the man is seen getting into a subsequent confrontation with another man as sirens are heard in the background. The suspect then tried to walk off, but officers found him and took him into custody, an LAPD spokesman said.
