LAFD Responds To Medium Brush Fire In Chatsworth Cemetery

CHATSWORTH, CA – The Los Angeles Fire Department is on scene of a medium brush fire that has involved approximately eight acres of land within a cemetery, officials announced on Wednesday.

According to officials, the brush fire, which was reported at 1:47 p.m., is burning in the 22000 block of W. Lassen St. The fire is moving west with minimal winds and, according to department officials, no structures are being threatened at this time and there are no injures, fire officials said.

Firefighters are working to tie in the handlines around the head of the fire and anticipate completing that shortly, LAFD officials announced in a news release and the forward progress of the fire has stopped.

One truck from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and crews from the Ventura County Fire Department assisted with the fire.
