Line Up, Chick-fil-A Fans: New Restaurant Opening In Burbank
The company's opening-day "First 100 Campout" tradition means you could score a year of free Chick-fil-A meals.

BURBANK, CA – Pack up your sleeping bags and tents as Chick-fil-A will open its first Burbank restaurant on Jan. 10, with its accompanying "First 100 Campout," a company tradition that dates to 2003 for new store launches
The new Burbank location, at 3113 W. Olive Ave., is one of three Los Angeles-area Chick-fil-A restaurants opening on the same day including locations in Rialto and Riverside.
And you know what that means ... the traditional, family-friendly overnight, parking-lot camp-out that allows the first 100 adults through the door on opening day to be eligible to win a year of free Chick-fil-A meals -- in short, 52 dinners with a chicken sandwich, waffle potato fries and a beverage.

These camp-outs need some guidelines, so here you go from Chick-fil-A spokespersons:
- The line for the promotion opens at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9. If there are more than 100 people in line at that time, a drawing will be held to determine the 100 who will stay on site for the next 12 hours.
- If there are fewer than 100 people, we’ll continue to register participants until we reach 100.
- The community promotion is open to people age 18 and older with ID living in specific zip codes surrounding the restaurant. Please see http://www.chick-fil-a.com/Locations/First-100 for details.
- Prizes will be awarded around 6 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10.
Along with the grand opening festivities, franchise owner Schoop also is including a children’s book drive to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Burbank and Greater East Valley.
Schopp, an Arkansas native raised in Chicago, always knew he wanted to own his own business one day. While working in the Bay Area as a teacher, along with his wife, Jenny, Schopp got his first taste of Chick-fil-A at a Fairfield location and fell hard for the chain and its signature sauce.
