CASTAIC, CA — A man suspected of brandishing a gun at drivers in the Castaic area has been taken into custody, it was reported Thursday.
The brandishing occurred June 18 between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the area of Lake Hughes Road and Ridge Route Road, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Santa Clarita station.
The man's name was not immediately available, and it was unclear if he was booked or possibly facing charges in connection with the incident.

Investigators had released an image of the gunman in a red shirt, wearing a black backpack while holding something in his raised left hand as he ran through traffic.
In the announcement that the man was in custody, the sheriff's department thanked the public "for the tips and information provided."
