Man Wanted In Lottery Heists Across The San Fernando Valley

LOS ANGELES , CA — Los Angeles police detectives are asking for help finding a man wanted in connection with a con/burglary operation and targeting doughnut shops and other small businesses in the San Fernando Valley.

Victor Perry Guy, 51, is one of three men suspected of committing 15 commercial burglaries. The trio allegedly posed as lottery officials on service calls in order to gain access to lottery tickets. The crimes took place between Aug. 12 and Sept. 21, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

"The suspects would portray themselves as California State Lottery employees by using fraudulent identification and uniforms," according to a police statement. "The suspects would enter the business with play slips and (lottery) stamped receipt rolls. The suspects would tell the employees they were there to service the terminals."

One suspect would distract an employee while another would got to the lottery terminal and print several hundred, and sometimes even thousands, of Hot Spot lottery game tickets before leaving with the tickets, police said.

Two of three suspects have been identified by detectives and one of them, John Gerry Adams, was taken into custody on Sept. 26, police said.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 51-year-old Victor Perry Guy, according to the LAPD. He is white, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 220 pounds, with black-and-gray hair.
