Maserati Driver Ditches Car After Fatal Valley Hit And Run: Report

An 80-year-old man and his dog were killed in the crash Tuesday night.

LOS ANGELES, CA — An 80-year-old pedestrian and his dog were killed when they were struck by a Maserati in Sherman Oaks Tuesday night. The driver remains at large, according to authorities.

Officers were called to the 4400 block of Woodman Avenue, near Moorpark Street, at 11:35 p.m. following the crash, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.

The man and his dog were crossing Woodman Avenue when they were hit by the Maserati, which was traveling northbound, KTLA reported.

The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The dog was found dead beneath a nearby parked vehicle, KTLA reported.

Witnesses told police they photographed the suspect's car after the driver briefly stopped after the crash. The Maserati was found a few blocks away with significant front-end damage with the license plates removed, according to the station.
